Tegalalang Rice Terrace

The Tegalalang Rice Terrace in Ubud was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Rice terraces are very quintessential Bali and are a dominant part of the scenery around the island. The Balinese have developed an impressive and intricate system of terraced rice fields due to the inability to grow rice in the traditional wet farming style, due to its steep terrain. I have very fond memories of never ending sights of green rice paddy fields, which is a very common sight while roadtripping across rural India. But I had never seen terraced rice fields before and it was sheer gorgeousness!

I love this beautiful maxi dress from Pampelone that I wore while sightseeing in Ubud. This effortless cotton maxi is the definition of eternal summery days. It has an adjustable waist tie, side slit and gorgeous hot pink embroidered florals just enough to make a subtle statement while still keeping the entire look quite airy and fresh.

I paired it with these pretty braided laceup sandals from Soludos. They are so comfy and are the perfect touristy sandals. Looking back though it was probably not the best for climbing down the rice terraces haha, but I was already in them for the sightseeing earlier that day so I made it worl. I finished the look with silver jewel accents and a giant straw hat – Balinese style ;).
