Cape Town : Colorful Bo-Kaap

We just got back from a week long adventure to the beautiful city of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula in South Africa to celebrate my big 3-0 and our 5th wedding anniversary! Our trip was absolutely amazing and we had such a diverse and memorable experience, I can’t wait to share all through next week with a recap of our trip and travel guides if you are ever planning to visit the place! South Africa is a beautiful country and offers so much to explore from the cities, beaches, mountains, wineries and wildlife! This time we only went to the Cape area, but we are dying to go back and experience a safari next time.

One of my favorite spots in the city of Cape Town was the colorful neighbourhood of Bo-Kaap. This historic cultural part of town was formerly known as the Malay Quarter and is one of the oldest residential areas in the city, dating back to the 18th century. The area is so charming and is lined with brightly colored homes and romantic cobble stoned streets. Its a great place for an afternoon stroll and while you are there you can also visit the Bo-Kaap museum for more insight into the history of the area.

I wore this white tunic coverup from Chantik over a nude slip to make it a dress for the day. I love the subtle embroidery and the fun tassel lining along the sleeves and bottom of the dress. I paired it with this comfy pair of lace up sandals from L*space and a pom pom rafia tote from Kayu‘s summer collection! This bag will be out in a few weeks, so if you’re looking for something similar immediately, check out the St Tropez tote. I have that one too and adore it! My absolute fave thing to wear on vacation (or really anytime haha!) is an airy white dress, so I have linked a bunch of similar styles in the carousel below.

Dress – c/o Chantik (also love this)

Bag – c/o Kayu (love this one too)

Sandals – c/o L*space

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more posts from Cape Town next week. xoxo
